Nursing Services for Industry

Printer Friendly Version

Client A*

Our client is a leading international metal company (steel and aluminium) with manufacturing plants in the UK, Europe and USA.

Kinetic Nursing Services currently supply on site nurses to three plants in the UK. In each case the service we offer has been tailored made to meet the needs of the medical departments at each plant.

The nurses supplied have attended an induction provided by our client. Previous experience in a similar setting, A&E or in Primary care and a first level qualification in Adult nursing are required. An ability to work alone and cope with a major incident are also qualities that are essential in the nurses we supply.

The nurses are an integral part of the teams. They carry out medicals and health screening as well as being on hand to treat minor injuries and ailments.

At two of our client's plants we have a fully managed service in place - Nurses are provided to cover the medical department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Their cover is a pre-requisite due to the nature of the work being conducted at the site. Cover must therefore always be in place and the consequences of it not being so would be far reaching both for Kinetic and our client. Service level agreements are in place to ensure the essential requirements of our client. Our contract has recently been renewed.

The nurses we provide mainly work on a contract for services. There are however three nurses who were previously employed by our client but whom were transferred across to Kinetic (under TUPE) as part of the managed service.

Because our client demands that cover must always be in place, Kinetic Nursing Services have devised strategies to ensure this as much as possible. Although some of the nurses work on a full time basis, the greatest majority are part time. In order to maximise the availability of this team of nurses, a fixed rolling rota over 5 weeks has been devised. Nurses commit to the same shifts over 5 weeks. This allows them to plan around other commitments. It also allows the department to plan ahead and benefit from having a stable and reliable workforce.
